Restrictions have been lifted and it is the first day back at work. Nothing better than walking into a gym for me. My passion for basketball turned into fitness. The court was a sanctuary and a place of refuge. Now it’s the weight room. The clinks and bangs of the plates are music to my ears. A place where you see people hauling themselves into the gym to just put in some work … internally and externally. It is more then throwing weight around. It’s monotonous and tedious to some, but something completely different to me. I am tapped in and ready to work.
It's been a challenging two years, but I learned just showing up, ready to tackle a day, ready to face a challenge is an accomplishment in itself. Despite our recent lockdown. We have many new days to get something right. To my fellow friends, readers, I may or may not know, there’s nothing better than an underdog story, a rebirth, “adversity is the foundation for success” a quote by Gary V, I stand by.
“It’s cliché to say: work hard, don’t quit. I would really say find yourself and find what’s your, What’s motivating force behind you? And build around that” - Nipsey Hussle
I am going to start using my socials to continue pressing forward into this industry and field. I will be continuing my education to perfect my craft, volunteering at old and new organizations that I can assist, and challenging myself to continue to learn and grow by connecting with like-minded and aspiring individuals. So yes, cheers to a new beginning and to health being the new wealth! I believe this industry will take off in the next decade or much, much sooner, and I want to be part of it.
Sincerely,
Lydia Cuff
